Editorial Policy - Research Methodology and Corrections

How We Research Texas Law

We research primary sources first: Texas statutes at Texas Legislature Online (capitol.texas.gov), Texas Department of Transportation Crash Records, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations at fmcsa.dot.gov, and OSHA standards at osha.gov. We link directly to those sources in each guide so readers can verify.

Writing and Review Process

Guides are drafted by the editorial team using primary sources and secondary explanations from official Texas agencies. Each guide is checked for accurate citation of Texas law sections, current as of May 2026. We do not invent personal anecdotes or claim unverifiable professional experience. If we reference statistics, we link to the source agency.

Corrections Policy

If we publish an error in Texas law citation, we correct promptly and note the correction date. Email corrections to texas@forelephant.com with the specific statute or source.

Sources Transparency

Every guide includes a Sources & Legal References section with direct links to Texas Transportation Code, Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code, FMCSA, TXDOT, and OSHA. Last verified date is shown in article metadata.

Advertising and Independence

We display ads via Google AdSense (ca-pub-6056121762103589). Ad placements are in standard locations (below title, near calculators/tables, mid-article) and are labeled via AdSense. Advertising does not influence editorial content. We are a legal information publisher, not a law firm, and do not provide legal representation.
